Instructions

    Mix flour, salt, oil, and lukewarm water in a bowl. Knead for 3 minutes until smooth dough forms that does not stick to hands.

    Preheat your oven to 220°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a thin rectangle, about 3 mm thick.

    Spread crème fraîche evenly over dough. Thinly slice the red onion and sprinkle it over along with shredded Gouda and chopped chives.

    Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Slice into 2 cm thick pinwheels using a sharp knife and place them cut-side up on the baking sheet.

    Bake at 220°C for 12 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the dough edges turn crisp and golden brown.
